INTRODUCTION: The firm was established in Bombay in the year 1929 by the late Mr. Abdul Hussain M. Thariani, under the title Abdulhusain M. Thariani and Co. It soon succeeded in establishing itself as one of the leading firms of Architects in Bombay ? with its practice extending all over the Sub-Continent. In 1947 alone, the firm was carrying out over 60 projects. With the birth of Pakistan Mr. Abdulhusain Thariani came over to Karachi where he was initially associated with Messers Hydari Construction Company as its Managing Director. Several huge projects were carried out under his aegis in those early years, and subsequently the firm of THARIANI and CO. was launched with the admission of his sons Mr. Saleem Thariani and Mr. Azad Hasan Thariani. Mr. Gul Ahmed joined the firm in 1986 and became partner in 1994; consequently the name of the firm was changed to Gul and Thariani, under which the firm is now carrying out the practice.
